Snow on Croagh Patrick

“Snow on Croagh Patrick,” a quiet Irish Christmas ballad set beneath one of County Mayo’s most iconic mountains. Winter settles over the fields below Croagh Patrick as snow gathers on the mountain, rain moves across the slopes, cattle stand along the hedgerows, smoke rises from cottage chimneys, and the roads begin leading people home. There are no grand celebrations here. No glittering streets or elaborate traditions. Just December in rural Ireland — work continuing, fires being lit, families returning home, and Christmas slowly arriving with the evening. “Snow on Croagh Patrick” is a cinematic Celtic Christmas song about the ordinary moments that make the season feel like home.
